out of sync?
when ever i try and watch a divx video using divx mobile the audio goes out of sync after 10-20 secs, if i skip the video forward or back it goes in sync again but the same problem occurs after 20 seconds or so, any suggestions? Is it to do with the frame rate of the video files? What frame rate should videos be at when using divx mobile?
Thanks

I have resolved the problem stated in this thread. Either CorePlayer or TCPMP - two different video players for PocketPC - successfully play large file DIVX .avi files on my pocketPC without requiring re-encoding of any kind. (on most PPC, be sure to set "Video outpu" option to "Raw FrameBuffer" in coreplayer or TCPMP).
I recommend to other users with A/V drift sync'ing problems to uninstall DIVX mobile and use CorePlayer or TCPMP, while waiting for newer release of DIVX mobile.
My next problem: cannot uninstall DIVX mobile from my pocketPC - ran the uninstaller from my windows XP PC troug Sync 4.5, but all the DIVX links still show up in my pocketPC as broken links and I cannot remove them... :-(
I've had the same problem on 2 different standard N95 phones. The video gradually goes out of sync as it plays, so the manual adjustment won't work as the sync is constantly changing. Also, if you leave the video to play for a bit over a minute both the video and audio will lag and stutter. I haven't tried it with many files, but this may just be with XviD encodes.
Is this something we could get fixed for V0.90 for Symbian 3rd Ed?
Cheers
#edit: Meant to reply at the end. This was with V0.89 on S60 3rd Ed
Files that gradually drift out of sync are typically due the frame rate being slightly incorrect. Using a tool like VirtualDub, you can manually change the video frame rate without adjusting the audio playback speed. Using a lot of trial and error, you can usually correct A/V drift.
To avoid the issue in the first place, use DivX software from http://divx.com/divx to encode your videos. Be aware, there are many tools on the internet that claim to be "DivX Encoders" yet are not actually based on software from DivX Inc. Rather than use anything based on FFMPEG or MEncoder, I typically recommend VirtualDub for Windows or StreamClip for OS X.
As for the stuttering, please read http://labs.divx.com/node/6231#comment-5091
I figured it was the case that the video was probably too fast, but if it can be done without a full re-encoding of all my videos that'll make it a bit easier.
As for the stuttering, I think that was more to do with the video and audio getting so far out of sync that the phone's memory was struggling to keep track of things.
This is a known problem with DMP 0.87 Beta. The good news is that it only affects some video files. Many files play with proper synchronization. Unfortunately, it seems anything created with DivX Converter or Dr. DivX will fall out of sync in less than a minute. We are testing a fix right now that should be part of 0.88.
I am still having this issue with version 0.89. I am using a N95 8GB. Has this issue been resolved yet?
many thanks
Ben
To help with A/V sync, we've added an option on the settings page to manually adjust the sync for your device. It's not the most convenient solution, however if your sync is consistently off, you can at least tweak your device.
I have this same problem in the latest release - audio getting more and more out-of-sync with video as it plays on Mobile divx player.
I cannot testify to the version of encoder used to create the divx files I am viewing on my PocketPC. I experience the problem with all torrent divx files I have downloaded to date. They play perfectly on my windows xp PC - but the sync gets gradually worse and worse as the mobile divx player on my pocketpc plays the vidoe.
Thanks for adding the sync adjust option, but it does not correct problem of audio-video sync getting gradually worse and worse.
