On DivX mobile 0.88 I am getting an admittedly very quiet but also very annoying hissing/static background noise from the speakers when the volume is muted or low, is this a problem that you know about already? and is there going to be any way of stopping it as it can be a bit irritating when trying to watch a muted/silent video in a quiet room.
Thanks

Speaker hiss

Which phone are you using? Do you have any other media players installed on that phone? Do any of them also "hiss"?

This sounds like a hardware problem rather than a software problem although there may be something DMP can do to turn off the speakers when the volume is 0.

Im using an N95, I dont have

Im using an N95, I dont have another media player installed but when using the phones standard media player i dont get the hiss, i cant be sure but i dont recall noticing this problem when i was using V.0.87, I tried using the headphones and still get the hiss so i dont think the speakers are faulty. What are your thoughts?
Thanks

Try "airplane" mode

Try turning off all other wireless transceivers on your phone. Many phones offer an "airplane" mode that turns off the GSM radio, the Bluetooth radio, WiFi, etc. One of the other transmitters might be causing the noise.

Speaker hiss

I don't have an N95 to test but if anyone else out there has heard the same problem please let me know. I have some other Nokias so I'll be listening for speaker hiss in the future.

Usually, this type of problem arises when an amplifier circuit is left on and it picks up some electronic noise. Typical fixes would require turning off the amplifier when the media volume is 0 and/or isolating the circuit from the source of the noise.

The same speaker noise with Nokia N73

I have the same problem with my Nokia N73 phone. This noise starts with entry DivX video clip, than it stops and starts again with a movie. Than you can hear this noise all the time - in quite moments in the movie, during pause, when you work with menu. By exit DivX Player (0.88) the noise stops.
