Announcing the official release of the DivX Player for Macintosh!

It's alive! It's alive!
After many dark nights spent deep in our underground labs, turning dials and twiddling knobs on all sorts of 1930's era mad-scientist equipment, we've successfully sent a zillion-volt lightning bolt deep into the heart of our Macs and ignited the pulse of life into... The DivX Player for Macintosh!

But don't worry... this creation is no mindless monster!
On the contrary, it is so civilized and brimming with elegant, never-seen-before features that you'll wonder how you ever watched movies without it! That, and will Mel Brooks *ever* make a sequel to Young Frankenstein!? C'mon, Mel! We've been waiting forever!
FeaturesAnyway, while we're waiting for Mel to make the sequel, here is a quick list of the innovations found only in the DivX Player:>
Wait... list? LIST!?!? We don't need no stinkin' lists! We're DivX! We do video - not lists!! What was I thinking!?? Silly me. So without further ado, what better way to show you the player than to... well, actually show you the player!?
Video Coming Soon!
That's the DivX Player in all it's newfound glory! Download it and enjoy your movies (DivX, QuickTime and more) like never before!

Just because we've breathed life into the player doesn't mean we're content to just let it live out its life in its initial incarnation. Nope - we have plans for it! Feed it well, teach it manners, send it to college... oh, wait, that's a very different little monster who isn't quite yet so civilized. :)
No, for the DivX Player we have another set of plans. Although some future features are still secret, here are some directions we are explicitly looking to go in:
- Provide the player as a Universal Binary
- Add support for Subtitles (this, by the way, has been the #1 most oft-requested feature!)
- Customize the player's Dock Menu to add movie controls (especially useful in desktop playback mode)
- Provide Play List functionality
- Expose preferences to allow for customization of existing features
