This Time, Free The Themes!

Please read this before you log in to DivX Labs.
The next time you log in to DivX Labs you will be prompted to read and accept an updated terms-of-use statement including a new plug-in/themes creation and publication license agreement. The new agreement allows you to publish DivX Connected Themes for others to use; it protects you and your developments meaning that your themes are yours and stay yours.

Of course, the new agreement also gives us the rights to host and promote your themes and our services, and it protects us in the unlikely event that you post a theme which you weren’t authorized to create (such as one you do not own the rights to). But you would never do that, would you? Hint, hint … don’t do that.

On a related note, did you know that you don’t even need a DivX Connected device to start playing with and developing for the DivX Connected platform? Well, it’s true. You can try out the DivX Connected experience by simply downloading the DivX Connected Server Software and the DivX Connected PC Client to your PC. Then you can download the DivX Connected Server Plug-in SDK to create your own plug-ins. Of course, if you’d like to buy a DivX-Connected device, there’s a DivX Connected digital media adapter for sale in some parts of the world right now (soon also in North America).
