Thanks for the poll. My
Thanks for the poll. My response comes quite a bit late, but yes. Creating one's own mkv container content is a must in my opinion, either with x264 or Especially H.264.

Sweet!!!!!!!
I'll be right there when the time comes! Will the current Dr. DivX get an update for this new DivX AVC, or will there be a completely new app?
( You could call the new codec D264, simple! Nough said!)
Definitely
That's great news to hear! I'm definitely looking forward to trying it out whenever you get something ready. :)
Well, it's no secret, we are
Well, it's no secret, we are working on an h.264 solution. "DivX h.264" (not final name) will be based on both things we've done internally and also incorporating technology and expertise from MainConcept (purchased by DivX last year). We don't have a release date or anything like that, but we're working furiously to get something out sooner rather than later.
That said, the purpose of the poll was to get a sense of where people are coming from in regards to h.264, so we know how much information and resources we'll need to provide. Granted, there are some excellent guides out there already, like this one ;), but we hope to help users who aren't yet familiar with h.264 or know how it differs from current DivX.
Also, as we did with DivX Connected, we'll be looking for volunteers to be beta testers for DivX h.264. If anybody is interested, definitely check back at DivX Labs for the announcement.
h.264 poll here at DivX?
I wonder if this means there's something h.264-related coming up from DivX. ;)
