ASX is a playlist file type, not a video file type

ASX is a list of files to play, not the files themselves. It is typically used for streaming applications. It can point to almost any file type. Connected does not support ASX lists. Not sure if it is something that would be useful in the short term to add since most ASX files point to streams that would not yet be playable either.

Currently DivX Connected support streaming of DivX

Currently DivX Connected support streaming of DivX or Xivd using HTTP 1.1 protocols. We are in the process of writing a streaming filter for DirectShow that should allow do this but I can not yet estimate when it will releasable. Once we have wider streaming support, we could add ASX as well.

Thanks, I'm interested in

Thanks, I'm interested in this feature too, as I'd like to be able to stream a foreign-language newsfeed stream through a plug-in.

Thanks for the information, this cleared up my questions about it. Hope to see these features someday.
