A Million Dollar Question:

This is the era of Digital Cinema. Everything is being converted to a file format and then played through projectors that can give a High Definition Movie. ( 1920x1920). On doing so, the studio's end up with a 9 Terabyte file which is to compress the video and the audio to be saved as it is.

People are talking about MPEG4, H.264 Codec, ACC Audio Etc., Now can DivX give a clear file format that can reduce the size to such an extent that it will compress the files to such an extent that these movies can be transferred through Internet ? ---- Shiva, BLS Digital CInematics Pvt Ltd, New Delhi

I've also been playing with

I've also been playing with MJPEG and playing movies through some projectors but my machine isn't fast enough to convert everything and i don't have the storage space either but if you do i'd suggest using it.

D/E-Cinema

D/E-Cinema uses MJPEG-2000 and is lossless. While I hope things eventually move from MPEG-4.10/H.264/AVC to MJPEG-2000 interframe with motion compensation, it's still bleeding edge technology, and is comparable to existing H.264 for compression.
