Straming video off of the internet
Hello,
I have been looking for a device that will take whatever I am wathing on my CPU down to my T.V. I think that this DSM-330 might be the solution but I am not sure. Here is my situation. I am a big sports fan and now with modern technology a person can watch there favorite college team play via the internet. However, it can be a problem because you have to watch the game on a 19 monitor. Now I know that this device will play any file that is located on your CPU to your T.V. But, will it allow you to watch content that is streaming to your CPU to be viewed to your T.V.? I hope I am clear in describing my situation and I also hope that someone has an answer.
Thank you very much,
SW
I am interresed to.
Watch streaming content from sofa would be very cool.
I am interested in this also, do you have something that works with the service I use? its http://3click.TV, its really good but I need to move it to my TV. Is there a set top box for this? I checked with 3click.TV and they said their streams are mp4 streamed in flash. would love to find a way to make this connection. any suggestions?

DivX Connected can stream from some sites currently.
The current streaming capabilities that are officially supported are DivX, XviD and MP3 audio. There is a PC based client that you can try that will allow you to try it out and add plug-ins and support for other formats as well.

The PC based client does require a very fast PC in order to work on the same PC as the server, but works really well if run from a different PC. It also only supports keyboard commands, not a mouse. When using a real device, the PC speed requirements are reduced.
As the platform grows, other formats will be supported. I have seen some Flash based protoytpe plug-ins that can stream from YouTube (no sound yet) on the Connunity.com site.
There are also other services such as Vuze that were announced as partners in January and are currently under development, but no announced release date yet.
