Missing sound
I have used DSM-330 for about a month and so far really loving it. Until some 1 hour ago when something happened. Suddently the sound went missing. I have checked the cables, upgraded the firmware to the latest I found on the D-Link UK website (EU_1.0.1.30) and checked my TV, but nothing seems to resolve the problem. I get sound from my DVD player and also from the Sky box connected to the TV.
I have connected the DSM-330 to my HD TV (Samsung) via HDMI cable. Now, idelly, this means that I should not require any additional sound cables, but I don't get the sound from teh DSM box via the HDMI cable. So, I connected the DSM-330 with phono cables (gold plated) and then the sound does appear. But now it is suddently gone. Tried all teh settings I could come across, but nothing helps.
Any suggestion? Please advise.
No audio after converting divx for windows media player? I don't understand how this happened. I have audio on divx player- I downloaded quick time - I have audio. In Windows Player- no audio- help plz- Thank you
Have you tried getting audio back through various file types such as divx videos, non divx videos, mp3s, streaming content from the services, etc?
Double check your cable connections, and then try this:
Shut down your TV, Computer, and the Device. ctrl+alt+delete and stop any processes starting with "divxconnected"
Reboot your computer and get your DivX Connected server up and running again. Now with your HDMI cable plugged in, turn on your TV first, and then your box. Press "setup" on the remote, and go to the "run setup wizard". Navigate to a divx video that you know has audio and play it back. Do you hear anything? Double check the volume on your TV, your Connected remote, and double check the mute button as well (there is one on the connected remote). I'd also try some mp3 audio files if you have them.
Let me know how it goes.

Dan,
Many thanks for your reply and the suggestion. I have noe done the following:
Tried all different types of files, including mp3. No difference. The services dosen't give any sound either.
I have checked all the cables. I borrowed an HDMI enabled DVD player from a friend today and plugged it into the same HDMI cable that I use for the DSM330. I got both video and sound, so there so no defect in the TV HDMI socket nor the HDMI cable itself.
I also closed the DivX Connected application, killed the process and rebooted the PC. Started the units in the order as you mentioned. The DSM330, when it came online, informed that a new firmware is available and I accepted the update. After the upgrade + reboot - still no sound. Note: both the phono cable + the HDMI cable are plugged in.
Question: can the type of HDMI cable make any difference? When I first got the DSM330, I used the cable that came in the package. That didn't work. Now I am using a "gold standard" cable - again, still no sound, but it works perfectly withan HDMI DVD player.
Also checked both the TV and DSM330 sound and mute button. Sound is enabled and on, the mute button for both TV and DSM330 is off, i.e. there should be some sound cming through.
Have I missed out anything? Can it be that the sound "export" unit in teh DSM330 is simply broken since it does not send out any audio on any of the outputs?
Appriciate your help.
DivX has read over every single post relating to the audio over HDMI. We are actively looking for a solution for everyone experiencing this problem.
For a temporary fix, you can use scart to component with the composite audio cables. Keep checking this board because we will be updating here as soon as more information is available.

It's now almost 2009. Any update on this? How can I get HDMI audio output to my Sharp LC-42D64U?
