no sound until you hit the volume button?

I just installed my dsm330 and everything was pretty easy to setup. However, when I pick on a new file (movie, or music) there is no audio until I hit the volume button even if I had sound on previous track. Is this normal? and if so, is there a setting to change it cause it's pretty annoying. Thanks
