Hello, Im new to this

It might seem stupid but Im having a problem with the player. I made a home video and I want to put it on my site. So I downloaded everything and Im not sure where to get the URL or path to my converted file. I converted it using the DivX converter watched it on the player and now Im not sure what to d from that point. But on my own I got to where the player is viewable on my site and it says this file is not a DivX file... Im at a loss I need help.

If that all seems confusing. Can someone tell me how to with a step by step instruction on how to move a homemade video file to the player so I can view it on my site. Please^^
