HDMI Audio Problem - No Sound
I've had my DSM-330 since it first came out in the UK. Delighted with wireless performance on standard output. Recently connected my 26" Samsung HD and had great joy at 720p, sound and everything.
This spurred me to purchase a new Sony 40" 1080p and the HDMI picture is stunning.
NO SOUND at all from HDMI!
Works fine on standard AV input but no HD. My DSM has no component output so I'm stuffed.
I am using the latest beta software 1.4.0 build 54 and the hardware has been flashed to 1.1.2.37.
It's like owning a Ferrari and living in a school zone!
Forums did not seem to have any solutions. Anyone got any suggestions?

I am interested in getting the fix that you posted above? Any chance I can get this?
i too would like the fix as i also have no sounds via hdmi.
i have tried pm-ing slightlyoffbeat direct but no reply as yet.

If you go to the D-Link technical support page you can get the latest flash upgrade for your DSM-330 box which will provide the audio support you seek,

but no sound over hdmi isn't listed as one of the bugs it fixes but i thought i'd try it any way - and it doesn't fix it...
i don't know what happened or what i did but the sound suddenly started working!

I will send an update to try as soon as it is ready. It may take one or two weeks though.
My daughter is bugging the crap out of me to get this resolved, as the DivX Connected unit is how she watches her Little Einsteins.
If it were must me, I could be patient, but try reasoning with a 4-year-old!

I have found a work-around for now but it is clearly a fairly widespread HDMI issue.
I discovered that one of my HDMI ports has an associated 3.5mm stereo audio jack associated with the port (for DVI/audio input) so I have output HDMI and audio via phonos to the Sony television. A stroke of luck for me because the output is excellent.
I look forward to correct HDMI operations with a future update.

I got around this issue by using the digital out to my amp but would also be really interested in a fix as I would rather not use my surround set-up for everything I watch. Please can you make it public when it's ready.

Also a user who is struggling with audio via HDMI. Actually, I bought a Samsung 40" HD TV specifically for the DSM box. Using scart, but the quality is not of mentionable level. Can you give an estimate of when you think the firmware upgrade with the HDMI fix will be issued?

guys i would try pressing setup and goimg to audio options, try selecting 2 channel audio instead of 5.
