When I try to update the firmware via a USB flash drive, I get a "Failure to find update.bin" message. Is there another way of updating the firmware? Or is this the only way? I have tried resetting to factory settings, but this didn't help. Thanks.

Can you try a different thumb drive?

Can you reformat the thumb drive?

The only other cause of this issue that I have seen have been due to corrupt or NTFS formatted thumb drives. We only support FAT32 drives.

Unable to write update.bin

HI,

I used the last firware version (1.1.2.37_prod) and my dsm 330 just doesn't work very well (Wireless would stop working after 15-30 Minutes).
So I updated back to the 1.0.1.30 firmware. Version that worked for me.
So today I installed DivX Connected™ Server 1.4.0 Build 59 Beta with Kamiwa's All in One. Now my dsm 330 wokrs correctly.
But now I want install 1.1.2.37_prod firmware but my device gives a message of “Unable to write update.bin”.
I tried many USB drives (FAT & FAT 32).
I tried to reset to factory settings, but this didn't work.

So what can I do now?

Please

Same problem here!

Yes, I've got exactly the same problem.

Had issues after updating to 1.1.2.37 so went back to 1.0.1.30 and now every time I try to load any firmware I get the "failure to write update.bin" message about 10 seconds after it says "updating firmware from USB drive!".

Is there any way around this folks?

Fwiw, it's nothing to do with the USB stick or the format. This is eactly the same stick I used to load the previous firmware updates - a newly formatted FAT32 on a 4gb stick - no other files.
