It uses the DivX webplayer and allows people to publish their own videos, I think that's how the player should be used, for thousands of videos, it's a perfect working example of how to use DivX webplayer in thousands of different ways.

Well despite it looks more like a showcase in advertisements, it is a nice design.
But, I think you should consider resizeing the images you use on the listing pages (eg. http://www.stagehd.com/internal/directory/MusicVideo) - All the thumbs takes up way to much bandwidth and rendertime, also it looks jerky when the browser is scaling a 700x500px image down to 150x150.
I see you are missing "Length" (duration) of clips, take a look at aviinfo.php - good script to parse videofiles for data (codec, duration, framerate, size).
But, it requires the file to be stored on local filesystem.
