What kind of clip (container, codecs, etc) did you encode with Converter? What are you using to play back the clip when it doesn't work at normal speed (DivX Player, other video player, PS3, etc)?
Also, it goes without saying that Windows 7 x64 isn't a supported OS for Converter 7.1. :)
I have got following problem playing via DivX7 a divX file that I have just encoded via current divX converter (V7):
- The file doesn't play at normal speed;
- it plays fine at quick speed (2FF).
I am working on W7 x64.
Note that I upgrade AC3filter from V1.61 to V1.63.
Thanks for advance
how can i enable this feature div on my ps3. i have the code but how do i register my device
I want to confirm the crackle sound issues. I have the same problem on Auzen X-FI Prelude 7.1 with any kind of audio codec. May be it is sound blaster X-FI chip specific only.

Hi all, I am having the same issue, some Avi’s that won’t play using DivX 7, but would play using earlier versions I compared files with “YAAI” and found 2 differences,
Video Bit Depth
Audio Bit Depth
Avi’s that won’t play have a Video Bit Depth of 12 or 24 and Audio Bit Depth of 12 or more
Avi’s that will play have a Video Bit Depth of 12 or 24 and Audio Bit Depth of 0
This is the avi info of one that won’t play as analysed by YAAI

I then re-encoded the video with DivX Author making sure Resolution & and file size were the same, once finished I analysed the avi with YAAI and this is the out come, It now plays with DivX 7, as you can see the main difference is the Audio Bit Depth, if it is 12 or more no Picture or Sound, but at ‘0’ I get Picture and Sound

Hope this helps and sheds some light on the problem.
You're going to have to do a better job of explaining what's wrong with the AC3 playback, I have no idea what you mean :)
Can you please drop the file into GraphStudio and tell me which AC3 decoder your system uses?
I'm hearing a crackling / noise that shouldn't be there.
The player has really awfull sound quality at the moment.
Happens with all video's with mp3 audio so far.
EDIT2:
It appears the audio goes bad when you fast forward/rewind.
So far i can reproduce this every time i use this.
Afterwards there is an terrible noise present.
Regards.
I e-mailed you yesterday with some questions and a link to an FTP upload location.
Can you check your mail (and filtered/junk mail) and get back to me? :)
Hey Al, I'm sure you remember me a little, the new installation of the DivX 7 player will not play .H264 at all now.
And I tested it on the last one and it was using Quicktime not actually your decoder, so an issue there, I did the setting to my DivX 7 take over mkv but yeah, I haven't rebooted like it told me too so I'll do another test after a reboot.
Edit: Yep, no H264 playback, Says the file name and what not, just won't start.
CPU: AMD Sempron 3700++ (2.0Ghz) Singlee Core
OS: Windows XP SP3
Graphics card: ATi Radeon Xpress 200 series on board
Sound Card: RealTek AC' 97 Audio
Ram: 2GB
And mp4 states something about not having Quicktime :P
But mp4 always uses h264 something backwards there

I have the same exact issues down to the letter, as alextepes there.
however i have no idea what my computer has just that it has one core Pentium 4 processor is made by Intel has Windows XP sp2 installed on it with 4 accounts and has 512mb of ram.
that's all i know about my computer.
currently i have to upload to either my site(https://www.stageav.com) to watch or http://www.StageHD.com/ to convert then watch the videos.
I am having similar issues. I was so excited that I could use divx to play those horrible mkv files! But after downloading, I can get video to play on both mkv and avi, but no audio. It says all my video files have an unsupported audio type.
I have codecs of nearly every kind, splitters, even directly downloaded the AC3,AAC,OAG,OGG Machine, and lame 3.98.2 audio package as well as the KLite codec pack, Combined Community Codec pack, directshow filter pack, and I even tested the codecs and video and audio portion of the show using the Gspot program suggested in the faqs. But the program seemed to have issues and was only able to tell me I needed the avi splitter (which I have) and the mp3 lame (which I have).
I watch similar anime shows as Alex above but out of a sample of hundreds of videos that I have none have audio and avi does not convert. -_- **** Even the divx shows I have converted will not play the audio. I'm sorry I don't have more technical information here, but this is the best I can do. If anyone knows of a solution, I would be eternally grateful and can give you a delicious virtual cookie. Chocolate chip or snickerdoodle, your choice. :D
