Hi DigitAl56K,
Does it mean that DivX container has failed to take off as intended?
Lately I've invested a lot of time in learning on how to make menu for DivX file but if DivX will be obsolete should I start learning about Matroska instead wasting my time on DivX?
Thanks
Vasilii
kadeer,
DivX 7 can still create files for your DivX Certified DVD player and I expect people to publish files in DivX 6 format for a long time to come. For some time DivX 6 will continue to have the greatest reach in terms of the number of DivX Certified devices in peoples homes. However, DivX 7 is based upon a different suite of technologies and your current DVD player will not play back the newer files, although you can always convert them to DivX 6.
DivX Plus devices, when they become available, will play all DivX media.
thanks for your reply digitAL56K. true that divx 7(remoulade) might take a while to get popular.
