Subtitles, Ordered Chapters and other things in DivX 7 Player

Did some testing, and found out the following:

- For some ungodly reason, AC3 audio in a 1080p H.264 MKV seemed to play in slow motion (?), which basically made the file unwatchable.
- Unstyled subtitles are quite fine, but the border drawing is screwed up, and the borders end up being inconsistend in width (like at one point there's no border at all, at one point there's 1px border, and on one point there's 3px border). Do you intend to properly support ASS/SSA styling in the future, though? That would be really nice.
- Internal MKV subtitles aren't on by default even after setting default subtitles on in the settings
- For some reason the menus flash once when clicking on.
- Can you use the default Windows Open File dialog? I'd rather use the Vista dialog than your own, since the Vista dialog offers a lot better exploring.
- Allow people to turn off UI elements. I, for one, will probably never use the burn sidebar, and it's just there to take unnecessary space.
- This definitely needs customizable keyboard shortcuts, and a lot more playback features as well. For example, there's no way to skip chapters right now besides using the right-click menu.
- Playback failed completely on a MKV file that uses ordered chapters and segment linking. It just said "loading video" and never loaded the video.

Here's something for now, doing more testing later.

Re: Lots of things!

Daiz,

- Which AC3 decoder filter is in use on your system? Please drag and drop the file onto GraphStudio and check the encoder properties to see which decoder is in use and which version it is.

- I hadn't noticed the subtitle border problem. I'll log a bug on it. Subtitle styles should be supported in future.

- I have seen various behavior with the menus depending on graphics driver and manufacturer. I have bugs logged against some of the problems. I think there may be some interaction between the QT UI and the Direct3D renderer.

- I'll talk to our PM about the open dialog. I know there may be reasons why we use our own.

- You can shrink those panels so that they don't show using the buttons on the sides of the panels.

- I'll add a request for more keyboard shortcuts

- Is the segmented file small enough for you to upload a sample? I can provide an FTP address if you want to do a private upload.
