Movie Metadata Rating and Ratings :)
OfflineYes i know there has been a fair few people talking about including the IMDB rating into the metadata section of movie files, i still want this as i constantly have friends coming over browsing my movie collection for something to watch.
I would also like to see a field in the movie metadata where you can enter in the actual rating of the movie, i.e. "MA" "M" "PG" and so on.
I believe that this would be a very important feature especially if you have young kids around so they know they should not be watching this movie and so you know not to watch it in front of them when they are around.
And another little side note that has been mentioned before, what is the point of having the fields 'director' and 'year' when that information does not even show up on the DivX Box on the TV?? Surely this has to be added?? Or has me adding in these fields for over 300 movies been a total waste of time??

thats what i think as well, why have these fields but not show them on the final output?
Like i have said a while ago, i have spent a lot of time getting my metedata up to scratch (im really picky with it, it must be all correct :P) entering in all this data for 300+ movies to find out that it was pointless is a bit shattering. i dont see how this could be that hard to implement, as half of it is already there, wouldnt you just need some code to show it on the output?
Think I brought up the IMDB rating a long time ago - really handy feature alright when friends are over. Mediaportal has applied this browse/filter movie collection by IMDB rating if I remember correctly. Furthermore, metadata that can be entered but which does not appear is simply ridiculous on the design front.
All in all, great ideas. These are the kind of interface improvements which could be easily implemented though I think we might be waiting a while...
