What is latest frimware for DSM-330 UK model
Just browsing the UK and US DLink firmware pages and have noticed that the 2 sites have a different offering for the upgrade. The UK site offers 1.0.1.30 (dated 16/04/2008), the US site offers 1.1 (dated 23/09/2008) and the revision info hold some interesting items such as Support for standard definition wide screen display setting and Audio Settings in the Display & Audio Settings Screen to choose between 5 channels or 2 Channels Audio. The US site rightly warns of the dangers of flashing the US firmware to devices outside the US, so my question is when do us guys in the UK get the same exposure to the latest firmware?
I didnt realise that V1.0.1.30 shafted my DSM-330. Anyway to resolve the problem.
I cannot upgrade my firmware to V1.1.2.34.
Anyone who has resolved this problem. Please assist.
They should be able to resolve this for you.
Hi!
Just a general suggestion.
Could you not advise us (through your newsletter) when a firmware update is available.
Thanks in advance
Old and grey but still kicking
How do I update my UK DSM-330 to the latest firmware ?
What's this about mp3 stuttering.. ? Mine doesn't stutter at the start of playback
Firmware is 1.0.0.11 out of the box.
I downlaoded the version indicated above.. and it just sits there for like 20 mins saying: updating... and nothing seems to happen.
How long should I wait ?
The D-Link site was correct at one point. I noticed the links for the pages have all changed and there was a slight redesign. It'll be cleared up soon. In the meantime, here is the link to the latest UK firmware:
http://labs.divx.com/files/DSM-330_1.1.3.4_DLINKEU.zip
Thanks for pointing this out :) We hope to have it resolved soon.

Downloading now ready to flash later. Will let you know how I get on.
Thanks for the link to the latest firmware (1.1.3.4), I thought I had the latest of 1.1.2.37, but obviously not.
So far the only improvement I've noticed is the volume indicated renders properly now. Apart from that everything seems the same.
I was hoping the stutter at the start of every MP3 playback might be fixed, but it isn't.
Any one spot anything else.
At one point my device was able to update the firmware automatically it's self. Anyone know why this firmware update didn't happen automatically?

It's a pity, the stutter is the most annoying bug in the connected device (besides the music sorting issue).
@dsalmonsen: can you say something about an upcoming fix for this bug?
@dsalmonsen: can you say something about an upcoming fix for this bug?
10 days and not even an answer, that's poor.
At least you could say that you can not or will not fix this bug, so we can go on, forget the connected device and find a product without these problems.
Another two weeks without a response.
So, I think I have my answer.
AE,
I have sent you Monster, and Greenman a private message. If anyone else experiencing this issue, hit me up with a PM.

Flashed to v1.1.3.4 this morning. All seems well except for the annoying MP3 startup stutter.
Any views on why this is happening or when it will be fixed? I had version 1.0.1.30 prior to this upgrade and the MP3 side of things worked fine.
Similar to the server, the device firmware comes in two flavors, production, and beta. We do not publish the beta versions as widely.
The only difference is that we automatically push new firmware versions as auto-updates (for wider testing before general release) to the beta firmware users. Productions users must download and update manually. At one point you must have had a beta version, then received an update notice, and later updated manually to a production version.
Whatever you do, don't install it (1.0.1.30). I did and it shafted my box.
When I reported the problem, DivX had D-Link remove the offending firmware from their site, but now it's magically back. Up until I read your post, the latest version was 1.1.2.37.EU which was available from the D-Link support site and appears to be OK. A friend of mine has it running OK.
Have a look at this thread http://labs.divx.com/node/7058
1.0.1.30 stops the box being able to take any further firmware releases and also shafts the wireless capability - you have been warned.
The bad version was 4 or 5 Mbytes in size. The good ones are always greater than 7Mbytes. I checked the size of what they have on the site and it was > 7Mbytes.
Pleeeeease!
Pleeeeeease release a new Server version that allows to display subtitles with mkv files!!!! I have a lot of HD pictures, all in mkv format, and I cannot display the subtitles...
Pleeease, let`s make it a New Year`s resolution!
Thanks!
johnnyriver,
is it possible to run mkv files DSM330? I would love to run these files, but can't. Is there a workaround you can share?
thanks
It's very easy. Just follow the instructions on kamiwas's site:
www.kamiwa.de
You can use the first post "Connected: Getting ready for DivX 7", or the second "New All-In-One pack for Connected Server 1.4 released". Both work.
Be sure to follow the instructions!
Good luck!
Why would they go back to an April release of the firmware? Have there been problems with the later releases?
I also noticed that there was a 1.1.3.4.EU version being offered on this site a little while ago. Is that the latest release?

Well, no sign of anything new for months....is there going to be a firmware update for the unit?
Are Divx still supporting this device?
Is this another brilliant product that I have invested in for it only to become a betamax!
