Vista issue that happens with a few programs
Source forge
Hi here is the url: http://sourceforge.net/account/login.php?return_to=/donate/index.php?group_id=248587
As long as Robotnik is running this pops up, if you close it it comes back with anger!!
Cheers
Hi - I too seem to be unable
Hi - I too seem to be unable to use this program - it just doesnt open (using Vista)
Any ideas what this could be?
many popups? read this!
I've found that if you're logged into your machine via VNC or similar type of session, the window manager will simulate a button click on each screen refresh. Not sure if it's the widget library, the OS, or the VNC programs fault - but try running it in a normal session and let me know what happens.
Thanks,
-nw
Nice but source forge is really spoiling this plugin!
Great plugin, however source forge is completely spoiling it! it keeps popping up and wont let Robotnik run.
I'm happy to contribute via paypal, however this source forge issue is spoiling it
Is it supposed to take over like it is? when i first ran it it ran fine?!?
Would like to resolve it as, like i say its a good plugin!
Cheers
bug with sourceforge page popups
Can you please post me the URL that the program is opening please? I can provide this fix in the next release (coming within two weeks)
Thanks,
-nicholas
I really like this... very
I really like this... very useful and did locate about 70% of my files of which 90% where correctly named.. not bad for a beta!
As I bought this system to play movies this has to be the best plug in out there
New release!
check it out!

- added handling for spaces in stored file string (%20) for a better lookup
- added logic to ignore all children directories of an ignored directory
- when user selects "no" it will not prompt user again for same file (until I build in another lookup mechanism)
Problem loading the program
I downloaded per instructions, unzipped the files and tried to run the application, but had no result. Has this come up before? Is it because I'm running Vista?
RE: Problem loading the program
stvnmgn,
I haven't heard of this problem before. I'll need to investigate this further. Please follow the support instructions included in the INSTALL.txt file. I don't have a Vista machine to test on - but I would *hope* that has nothing to do with it.
Thanks!
did you replace the writers
did you replace the writers user account name with your own in the robotnik_fetcher.yaml file? Open it up in wordpad and than press Ctrl+H and have it replace "bionik" with your windows user account name.
Oh, and it works fine on xp, vista, and windows 7 for me.
bionik, I would love to help you with this project. I know my way around coding programs a little, not much, but I believe I've found the line of code that needs to be changed to fix that "spaces/sequels" issue I noted before, I'm just not sure how to recompile the code. Also, I can make a really good website for this. Contact me if you'd like my help.

Problems with spaces
If you have a space in the filename it turns into %20 before it searches IMDB for it, which causes a low accuracy rate.
An example:
File name:
Mighty Ducks 1.avi
Robotnik asked me:
Is this movie file [Mighty%20Ducks%201.avi] this movie: D2: The Mighty Ducks.
This happened with almost any movie that has a sequel.
Personally speaking,
Personally speaking, probably the most useful plug-in I've used! Great to have someone working on this and I'd love to see this get developed.
Getting a decent hit rate with the search - around 70% I'd say. Of course, this depends on the filename used. To that end, one recommendation I'd make is that it would be great to have an option to search via the folder name (XBMC can do this). The filenames can sometimes be meaningless or provide erroneous results.
Additionally, if the correct file has not been detected, useful to provide a list from which one can choose (eg IMDB suggestions) or if not there, manually type in movie name and select options.
But seems to be working well so far! A little more development and this is well on its way to become a killer app!
Very Simple to use, matches
Very Simple to use, matches a lot of movies correctly, but misses a bunch as well. Very sweet little program, well worth the time of playing with it.
