How to do a firmware update (DSM-330) ?

Ok.. it should be straight forward...

Have a usb stick ready with FAT32 formatted and copy the update.bin file to the root area.

Insert said mem stick into front of DSM-330 and then go to the setup menu...

From here type in the usual remote buttons.. 2828464631
Then the update begins... "Updating from USB stick"

After about 3 minutes the message goes off the screen - and I'm back where I started!

I'm using this one: http://labs.divx.com/files/DSM-330_1.1.3.4_DLINKEU.zip

For the UK version.
My current version is: 1.0.0.11 as it came from amazon last month.

Any ideas what is going wrong ?

Have you checked to see whether there is a Firmware Update option on the second page of the Setup screen?

I've lost count on how many times I have tried this...
Typing 2828 4646 31 does nothing at all.

Using 1.0.0.11 also

any ideas!?

Unable to locate Update.bin

I had firmware version 1.0.0.11 also. Gave up trying to udate the firmware you can't. I tried for 4 months with so many differing usb drives and pieces of firmware it would make your head spin. I eventually gave uo and rang DLINK......

Fantastic. The first person I talked to obviosly needed to go through the usual speal. Thats OK I understand why, just in case they are dealing with people who are form the shallow end of the gene pool. She tried to be helpful and was very courteous. She took my details and promised to ring me back...

Fantastic She did. She escalated the call to Level 2 support.
Level 2 rang me a couple of hours later. And I explained everything I had done to try and get it to work. Also why I needed to. ( Green screens, lost setup info). He said I need to send it back to them in Sydney so they could flash it. I enquired about how long they needed it and he said I would have it back in a couple of days. He raised the RMA (142993 in case dlink what to track this for QA). and emailed the paper work to me immediately.

So Monday sent it to Dlink. Thursday got it back fixed. (Firmware 1.0.0.30) I love my DSM-330. As I dont wont my computer in the media room as Microsoft are trying to push.

WELL DONE DLINK. GREAT SERVICE BOTH PHONE AND LEVEL 2 SUPPORT.
