Dear DivX,

I downloaded release 7 today:

- It still doesn't support Vista 64. Ok, it works, but the installation of the short cuts for the update checker and the registration program still points to system32 iso syswow64. Is that so difficult to fix ?

- It looks like the Divx 7 installer still contains the 6.8.5 release of the codec. What's with that ?

- So when you run the update checker, it claims there's an update so it will just install a 6.8 release on top of a Divx 7 release. Nice way to go !!

DivX 7 is the h.264 codec,

DivX 7 is the h.264 codec, so my guess is that they did not update the original DivX codec as it works well, and they are focusing on the developement of the h.264 codec, the new standart.

No Kidding

I am also very upset. The new converter is horrible too. I have been using the old 720p profile. Everything looks great for awile then all the sudden the picture gets very choppy. My old Divx 6.8 pro converter never did that!!!!

Divx hurry up and fix these crazy issues.

And when will PS3 get an update to handle the new Divx plus HD.

Can't wait!!!

Later on!

Same thing here!!!

I PURCHASED this DivX 7, even though I already have a licensed v6.8!!!
I purchased it because it still shows 6.8.5 in VirtualDub!!!

I thought, perhaps there was a problem in the trial, so I purchased it to get a licensed version. And now it still says 6.8.5 (even though I uninstalled everything first!).
So I assume that the purchased version is still like my old 6.8.5, only with a new skin!

WHAT IS WRONG HERE!!!

Is this because I run Vista Ultimate X64?
Because the links are not correct either. It installed the DLLs in systemWOW, but the links refer to system32!!!

IS THIS A BIG JOKE???

Also, on divx.com the support site doesn't work (scripting errors), and when you direct the question to sales, you get refered to a page saying:

Dear Valued Client,
In order to offer you a quicker service already online, our Self-Help-Portal would like to suggest you the following answers:
Zoner - Technical Support
Technical Support
Susteen - Technical Support
Nucleustechnologies - Technical Support
Opera - Technical Support

What is this ???? What does it have to do with DivX ????
