Hi, my dsm-330 is not working, it has been for ages absolutely fine but this afternoon when i turned it on, it displayed the load up "divx connected" loading page but right after went black and stayed on this screen with the right side l.e.d flashing steadily every 3 or 4 seconds, so i have rest the box, i have now even went as far as a complete system restore and have installed divx connected after all the required drivers and it has done the same thing again.

I have given it permission, it isnt firewalled and upon investigation it points to the actual unit, has anyone else experienced this?

PC spec:

pentium core 2 duo 2.9
6 gig physical ram
1 tb hard disk
ati radeon x1550 with most current drivers
msi p965 neo motherboard

if anyone can give me instructions on how to fix this i'd greatly appreciate it, thanks.

Are you seeing the animated screen with sound?

Are you seeing the animated screen with sound or just the initial screen with the dot, dot, dot?

If you are getting the animated screen, then you are connecting to the server fine, but something is not right with your PC's OpenGL graphics. You may have installed some other software that affected this.

You should run a diagnostic test for OpenGL on your system such as the 'Rendering Tests' from http://www.realtech-vr.com/glview/download.html

On a normal system the test would pass However, on your PC I suspect the test application will show problems.

Couple Suggestions:

Remove and reinstall your graphics drivers to see if it resolves the problem.

Its the screen with the dots

Its the screen with the dots i get stuck on, it sees my server then tries to connect and then goes either green or purple but mostly black, i passed all of the open gl tests in that app.

dots problems

I had a funny problem on the "screen with the dots", but now that you mention it, I haven't seen it since I reloaded my OS *and applied new video drivers.*

My problem was that I was getting "noise" in my dot screen, basically a scattering of pixels and some incorrect coloring. I always assumed this was on the DSM-330 side, but now I see it could be rendered content coming back improperly from the PC.

I recently switched to an Intel D945GCLF2 (Atom) motherboard with an Intel video engine and that worked fine out of the box...but I had the dot noise occasionally until I updated the driver.

I also had a GL problem with my previous motherboard: I went from an Intel D201GLY (Celeron) motherboard which had a built-in SiS Mirage video engine, and that just crashed when it ran some of the OpenGL calls from Connected. I never got connected running on it. I tried applying patches and nothing worked, it just kept dying.

Sounds like an HDMI issue

Are you using HDMI to connected to the TV? What firmware revision are using?

There is a newer firmware available on the D-Link support site

There is a newer firmware available on the D-Link support site that will fix this problem. You will need a USB thumb drive in order to update the device firmware.

Yes, that should fix it.

If it does not there is even a later version, but I will have to find out the URL for it.

Does everything work OK if you use the PC (from the SDK)?

It think your problem is PC related. If the screen looks OK on the device when using the setup menus and then flashing after connecting to the server, then it is likely the PC graphics driver that may be the problem.

Does the resize screen in the device display setup menu look OK? What screen resolution is the device set to?

If you download the Connected SDK, there is a PC client program you can use to connect to the server and see of the flashing problem occurs.

hints

try to load up the server on another computer... like a laptop. Also, see if you can get success by using the wired ethernet port.

good luck,
