DIVIX CLEARLY STATES THAT YOU CAN PLAY YOUR MOVIES AND ENJOY THEM, IN THE NEW DIVIX 7, HOWEVER THAT IS A LIE.

MR. DIVIX, I CAN NOT ENJOY "DIVIX PLUS" MOVIES, AS THEIR IS NO AUDIO ON THEM, AND YOUR DIVIX PLAYER SAYS "YOU MAY NEED TO INSTALL A DIRECT SHOW AUDIO CODEC TO HAVE AUDIO " ... THAT IS ALSO A LIE MR DIVIX, I HAVE INSTALLED NOT ONLY THE BEST OF THAT CODEC, BUT EVERY AUDIO CODEC KNOWN TO MAN, NOTHING WORKS....

TO BE BLUNT, YOUR NEW DIVIX 7 IS BUSTED JUNK....OR AS WE SAY
IN TEXAS.... CRAP..

IN CASE YOUR WONDERING, MY SYSTEM IS A HP D7-1245DX LAPTOP W/ STD MICROSOFT DIGITAL AUDIO...

NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY FOR TODAYS LAPTOPS...

FIX YOUR BUSTED JUNK... IF I HAD ACTUALLY PAID FOR THIS, YOU WOULD NEXT FEEL MY ATTORNEYS SHOVING A LAWSUIT UP YOUR ASS FOR SELLING FRADULTENT AND WORTHLESS SOFTWARE.... ASK MICRO CRAP HOW THAT FEELS...

DivX and DivX Plus

Not sure why this old thread got brought back to life, but there are two separate issues that started off with the guy that only types in CAPS.

Issue one, is that DivX 7 introduced DivX Plus HD, which is H.264 video and AAC audio in an MKV container. An "issue" that can come up when playing MKV files that were not created as DivX Plus HD are that they can contain other video/audio types in the MKV container - not all MKV files are built the same.

If you don't get audio when playing an MKV file, it's likely that there is another audio codec required. You can run MediaInfo (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/Download) on your MKV to find out exactly what's inside. A common audio that doesn't always play is AC3, and you can download an AC3 filter (google it); once an AC3 filter is installed you should get audio via directshow.

So again, this is NOT a broken DivX 7... DivX Plus HD (MKV/H.264/AAC) files play just fine, and you need to get filters to play other stuff, just like Windows needs you to install things from time to time to get other files types to play (e.g. Flash).

As for the second issue, the Playstation 3 - the Playstation 3 is DivX certified, which means it can play DivX files, that's DivX/.AVI files created with DivX 6, along with movies in DivX format that can be purchased from stores that sell Hollywood content on-line (http://www.divx.com/en/movies).

Again, there is nothing broken with the PS3's DivX playback... it supports DivX files with MP3 audio, along with subtitles in a .divx or .avi container. If you're having trouble playing a DivX files on your PS3, it's possible that the file was not encoded properly for a DivX-certified device (even if it plays fine on your PC). DivX Certified devices need the files to be within profile because they have firmware/chips that were designed to decode the DivX format. You can always ask questions here on the DivX forums and we'll help, if you can't figure out how to convert the file with DivX Converter or another DivX creation tool.

Hope this information clears things up... have a great Holiday!

Wow..

really, clearly this person really hasn't tried every codec out there, its that obvious and really like the person somewhere ↑ firefox does have a spelling checker just in-case you didn't know, and what is DIVIX? seriously I don't even know how you can type that unless you really have some issue typing, and really you might have been browsing the wrong website at the time.

Also since the new DivX update(6.9.1) yes there a lot of bugs/issues or so, but it doesn't mean you have to make the product seem like "crap" it isn't crap, you should be glad that a codec like DivX exists because its much easier to have one codec instead of downloading a whole bunch of other codecs, and people, while your throwing off your useless bad comments, the DivX staff are working on fixing the bug issues. The only thing I can say is be PATIENT!

Are you people 4 real

So the jest of of it all is that the stupid thing doesn't work. It just takes up memory and causes your system extra lag. If it was a beta then I could possibly understand. WTF kind of crap is that, and why did sony allow it to be put on the PS3 if it is not fully functional?

Who are these "DIVIX" people

Who are these "DIVIX" people that you speak of? This is DivX.com . Perhaps you meant to post irate ramblings on someone else's website?

If you have DivX Plus files such as these that uses AAC audio it will play just fine, as will DivX 4-6 files using MP3 audio.

I'd be impressed if you had actually installed every audio codec known to man and still nothing worked. Perhaps you have discovered an audio format previously unknown to the human race. Why not drop a line to the editors at Time? Maybe you'll get published. On the other hand given the slim chance that you missed one you might want to try a tool like this to see which audio format is in the file then search for the right decoder.

This word, "crap", that you use in Texas.. sorry to break it to you but I think you'll find that's not very exclusive to your state. On the other hand I think the expression "busted junk" is something we'd be happy to let you lay claim to.

I wasn't really wondering about your system but since you provided that information I did search for it on Google and noticed that such a model doesn't actually exist. Perhaps you meant the DV7-1245DX, which does appear to come equipped with a "Caps Lock" key. You can find it on the left of your keyboard. You might try pressing it once in a while so that you can write sentences in the proper case. Anyway, back on topic: I wasn't aware that Microsoft had started making audio adapters or that this was now standard. Maybe you've made two unique discoveries in one day. By the way, did you know that you only need one period to end a sentence?

Paying for DivX Player is not really an option because it's free software so unfortunately I'm going to miss out on your attorney showing things up my ass, much to my dismay. Sidenote: Did you know that Firefox has a built-in spell checker?

You're welcome.

DID you know you can get $8 hair cut so you can scape that 80's horrible hair what ever that is called. or tell you mom not cut your hair, it is only $8.00 that would be such a improvement.
So do u still want to focus on spelling!!!!

Law

Honestly, I think we should let him have a go at suing DivX (Although preferably this Mr. DIVIX person).

Perhaps he's not aware that his attorneys (for he made it clear he has more than one who are dedicated to all his spastic, irrational, tourette's induced litigation needs) would require payment for their blind service to the criminally insane (probably up front).

The amount of money required to sue DivX (DIVIX), I would think, would far outweigh the cost of any "FRADULTENT" software. But what do I know? I have ALL of my faculties intact. I imagine the cost of having the lawsuit ACTUALLY inserted in an ass would probably be doubly expensive! I say go for it crazy caps lock Texas man. What's the worst that could happen? Bankruptcy? Nah, never happen. Set your slavering lawyer-dogs loose cowboy! Yippie!

2 words: Epic lulz.

Can't find a better way to describe this.. Oh and also, to the original poster, if you were not that mentally challenged, maybe you would understand that DivX is a video codec and what audio comes with your video is none of my, or DivX's concern or problem. So please, learn more about what you want to use before you try to make an uneducated rant that is all your fault.

Kind Regards,
Karolis.

LOL

Great comment Al,

Reading it just made my day.

Thank you.
