Can I use 1080p HD profile with DiVX Author?

For some reason the trial version I'm using will only show the encoding of the DVD as Home Theater Profile even though my home movies were encoded as 1080p HD profile with DiVX 6.8.
Ok, maybe I'm answering my own question here, but do I need to record a home movie with a HD Cam in order to convert it to 1080p? I thought my mini-DV captured avi files could be converted to 1080p by upscaling or resampling during the transcoding process. Or is this not a feature of the newer DiVX converters? If that's a stupid question, then I guess I won't ask where the 3-D Hologram Profile option is...ooops too late. : )
