Hi, something i dont understand...

each time i put on my dsm-330, the box is not able to see (or to relink) with my PC (where the divx server is installed). the box said 'press cancel or delete to search for another server'...

the only way to get working my box is to reboot my PC each time i want to use the dsm-330 box...

restarting the server software does not help, i really need to reboot my PC to get working divx connected...

pleade need advice...

thanks
Domenic

I had a similar problem

I had a similar problem whilst using Vista that only seemed to manifest itself after a few months.

I normally leave my PC on all the time with it happily going in and out of sleep and/or hibernate regularly - and the server application never complained and worked first time. Then, after a few months, it would necessitate me turning on the DSM to be greeted with the Server not Found message.

I'd then have to come out to the PC, kill the Server application, wait a minute, and then re-start it. Only then would the DSM recognise it.

Interestingly, the problem has completely disappeared and works flawlessly now I use Windows 7 RC1 as my base operating system.

just found a workaround

it seem that when i disable/unable my network card (in the device manager) divx box is now able to re-connect

so there no need to reboot my computer anymore... simply resetting (disable/enable) my network card is enough...

any of you ever had this issue ?

thanks

What server vversion are you using?

Is you PC configure to power down the network adapter after a certain amount of time? Are you still able to access the internet or other network devices?
