DivX Author - Adding separate audio track

I edited a 17 minute video master down to 8 minutes using Author. I want to ad an 8 min audio track that I created in Sound Forge but when I add the audio, it follows the video edit and jumps every time there is a video cut. How can I make the new audio track play smoothly?

I may not have an answer for you, but since DivX Author isn't doing the trick for you I'd likely try AVIDeMuxGUI (I've used it a little). Alternatively, if you used the DivX container format I'd consider DivXMuxGUI (I've not yet used that software though) - or if you used the MKV container format I'd be sure to try MKVMergeGUI.
