No Picture with DVI/HDMI Connection to HD-TV

I need some help please. I connected my PC (Sony Vaio VGC-RC110G) to my Samsung HDTV via DVI to HDMI cable and Optical for sound. With this set-up I am only receiving audio play-back when watching DivX Web Player Movies. The screen stays black while the movie plays and I can only hear the audio tracks.
However, when I connect the PC via VGA to my TV, it works fine, both picture & audio, but at a reduced resolution.
How can I get the DivX Web Player to display the picture using DVI to HDMI cable?
Any thoughts/solutions is greatly appreciated.

hey i have the same problem on my tv i get no picture from divx it just stays a blue box on my tv... but it does say buffering when it buffers which is weird and still has all the sound. help anyone?
