DIVX playback on HTC Touch Diamond stutters and audio lags behind

I have an HTC touch diamond. It has a screen resolution of 480x640. I have downloaded a video file with a resolution of 624x352, but play back stutters and the audio is way behind screen action. What can I do to solve this? Do I need an ac3 filter for mobile or something? Any ideas would be appriciated.
