I'm wondering if the specifications for DivX Plus certification include the ability to handle (either play or stereo-downmix, depending on the application) 5.1 audio. During the Remoulade beta announcements I had assumed that this would be the case, but it seems that the DivX Converter only spits out stereo audio. I can do my own 5.1 AAC encoding, but I don't want to do that if it won't work on all devices.
I very much hope the answer is yes - it would be wonderful to be able to encode movies with a single 5.1 audio track and have it play in 5.1 on a set-top box, and work equally well in stereo on a portable media player.
