Divx 6 (ASP) and out-of-order frames in NLEs. Any suggestions?

I have a video camera that records as MPEG4-ASP on an SD card.
I have been having quite a lot of trouble editing with the footage from this camera - mainly frames out of order. Now from what I understand, this is because of the compression technique used in Divx, where frames are diffs of other frames and such and this not being very compatible with the way NLEs work.

Does anyone have a workable solution? I would rather not convert all my clips to something else before editing.

I am currently using Vegas Pro 8.0b, but have tried Premiere Pro CS3 and get similar frame order issues.

Oh, and I already tried using MPEG4 Modifier from Moitah.net to pack the bitstream, but no dice.
