baffling n96

how on earth does your n96 work fine? Here's my problem: no sound and jerky video. A big part of this is i have no pc. (I'm importing stuff onto my phone using symtorrent) This means i don't have access to any of the software tools mentioned for converting files. Does all this mean i'm just screwed and should give up now?

Mobile videos

Unless the videos you are downloading are DivX Mobile videos then you'll find DMP has a hard time playing them.

Most "DivX" videos are (more specifically) "DivX Home Theater" videos though people rarely refer to them like that. There aren't many phones that can play Home Theater files but the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD comes very close. Like the N96, the i8910 is a Symbian S60 device but the i8910 will play just about any DivX Home Theater file as long as the audio track is MP3. (The i8910 can't play AC3 audio.)
