Handbrake presets for DivX Plus HD (MKV/H.264/AAC)

Hey All,

Wanted to let you know that at CES, DivX announced the launch of DivX Plus HD devices from two partners (Philips an Seagate), which means if you're going to use Handbrake, we've come up with some settings for compatibility with the DivX Plus HD certification.

You can now simply download and unzip this DivX Plus HD presets file and import it via Handbrake's presets menu.

Here's what the preset is placing for you in the advanced options:

level=40:ref=2:bframes=2:subq=6:mixed-refs=0:
weightb=0:8x8dct=0:trellis=0:vbv-maxrate=20000:

StaxRip supports DivX Plus HD (MKV/H.264/AAC)

It looks like the popular open source transcoding tool, StaxRip, has adopted DivX Plus HD compatible presets and encoding the H.264 video via x264 - the final output is an MKV with H.264 video and AAC audio. This is great news for those of you out there that like the convenience of an application GUI, but also like to tune and tweak as you go.

additional audio decoder

I do not have sound and keep getting the following message,

What can I do please??

The file contains a track in the Dolby AC3 Audio (code 8192) format . Your may need to install a Directshow decoder for this audio format in order to hear the sountrack of this file.

Announcing Gearbox Media Encoder Beta One (formerly DivX M.D.)

After nearly a year of working and basically rewriting this project, I am here to announce the Beta of the project spawned from the DivX MD Alpha.
I will need feedback so that I can improve this application further!

Codecs supported:
-Video:
x264, xvid, or disabled (audio only mode - encode the audio tracks in a video file).

-Audio:
NeroAAC, AC-3, LameMP3, Vorbis, 16bit-PCM (WAV file), or none (only encode audio if present).
