Hi,

I have downloaded the following file and when trying to play it, I get the following message which does not give one a clue what is needed to remedy the situation

"You may need an additional audio decoder to play the soundtrack of this file."

DivX Player for Mac OS X
Version 7.0.0 alpha

The file I am trying to play is:

the.royal.s09e05.720p.hdtv.x264-bia.mkv

Thanks

Same Problem

Hello,

I'm having the same exact problem for my Divx 7 on the mac. I've downloaded perian, I have A52Codec.component & AC3 Codec.component and still no sound. So unless I really don't have the right decodec or encodec or something is not in its right folder I don't know what to do. So can someone please help.

AC3 Audio

Out of the box, the DivX Player supports AAC and MP3 audio. It's likely that the video file you're using has another audio type, like AC3. You can find out information on the video file by opening it with Mediainfo:
http://mediainfo.massanti.com/

If this is the case, installing a codec pack like Perian will enable the AC3 audio:

Let us know if this helped.
