DivX VOD Registration for Mobile Player
DivX Mobile Player includes an option for registering the player with the DivX Video On Demand service. DMP can complete VOD registration directly over-the-air.
Below are some answers to frequent questions.
Do I need register DivX Mobile Player?
No. You should register DMP if and only if you use the DivX VOD service.
What is DivX VOD?
The Video On Demand service offers videos for sale through various on-line partners. DivX VOD titles will only play on a registered DivX device. For more information, see http://vod.divx.com/
Where can I get VOD titles?
There are several on-line services which have partnered with DivX to offer VOD downloads. For some examples, see http://vod.divx.com/get/
What VOD titles are available for DivX Mobile Player?
Currently, there are none. VOD movies are typically in DivX Home Theater format and are intended for DivX DVD players. There are currently no VOD titles in DivX Mobile format for DMP.
Where can I get DivX Mobile videos?
You can make DivX videos yourself using a DivX certified camera or DivX software like Converter, Author or Dr. DivX. You do not need to register your phone to play homemade DivX videos. Registration is only required for VOD purchases and currently there are no VOD movies available for DivX Mobile Player.
What if I want to register DMP anyway?
Aside from your DivX Labs account, you will need a DivX VOD account. You can create a VOD account using DivX software on your computer. Then enter your username and password on the settings page of DivX Mobile Player. Finally, choose the "register device" option from the menu. DMP will attempt to contact DivX.com and activate your device for DivX VOD.
What if I get an error?
If the network connection fails, DMP will display a registration code and suggest that you complete registration using the desktop DivX Player software. Unfortunately this option is not available at this time due to limitations of the desktop software.
Can you help me fix the error?
No, not at this time. There are no VOD titles for DivX Mobile Player currently available. The registration feature was added only for beta testing and there are several known issues that cannot be immediately remedied.

I cant seem to register divx mobile player version 0.91 although i have the registration code. It askes for device name, user name and password, i enter all that info but then i says email/password incorrect, i try with my email address instead of username but still getting same error message... WTF???
There is no need to register DMP with the DivX VOD service because there are no VOD titles availble for DMP at this time.
Having said that, DMP VOD registration requires a DivX VOD account. There are other reasons why regisration may fail but you might want to make sure you are using the username/password for your DivX VOD account.

Help! I can't register the DivX player on my Nokia E51
ciaparat makes a very good point... there are a lot of different makes in the list, but these are presumably all DivX Certified devices as opposed to software compatible ones.
I have a Nokia N95 8GB, but as previously mentioned, there is no mention of Nokia / Symbian / Smartphone / Software Only / etc.
Please add a suitable category option so we can register too... even if it is pointless at the moment! ;-)
Cheers
I can register my device, OS symbian UIQ 3... SE M600i
I was talking about going through the DivX player on your pc for VOD. There is no Symbian in the device manager.
Once you are in the Device Activation, what Device name are you supposed to select? There is no Nokia, Symbian, or DivX Mobile.
me too,same problem here,i'm w950i user
i registered my att tilt, after a little confusing..i thought it wanted the username/password i put in on the divx website but it was only after I registered for the VOD service that it would accept my username and pass. By the way, your username should be your email address, use the same password as when you registered on VOD, and you can put anything in device name..then go to register device. I'm having a problem with mine cutting out of a video and back to the library screen after a few seconds of playing though.
